We are responsible for servicing our water lines, the line that runs from our line to the meter and the meter.
Jackson County Water Utility INC. provides safe drinking water to over 5,600 customers across 5 counties. We are responsible for servicing our water line, the line that runs from our line to the meter and the meter. The owner of the property is responsible for anything past the meter, including but not limited to their water line and shut off valve, etc..
A new meter set of the standard (5/8” X 3/4″ meter) is $1,300.00. This includes the installation of the meter and meter pit. If a line extension is required there will be additional charges based on distance and additional materials, etc. For larger meters contact us for additional information and cost.
If there is an existing meter pit in place you will not be required to purchase a meter set. However if you need a meter set at your location here are the steps you need to take:
• Contact JCWU to find out if we service your location.
• Complete and sign forms HERE
• Once forms have been completed and received by staff of JCWU we will contact you about your new account, payment options and approx. date of installation.
Leak Adjustments approved by Jackson County Water Utility, INC can save a member 40% of leak and can include up to three consecutive months. Members can only take a leak adjustment if repairs have been made and member has had a true leak. Leak adjustments do not include filling of swimming pools or high usage. Only one leak adjustment every 5 years is allowed per membership. Click HERE to complete form.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer adjustments for filling swimming pools.
Complete and sign forms HERE , if the water has been disconnected by Jackson County Water Utility INC. there will be a $39.00 reconnect fee.
As the property owner you will be required to purchase a membership. Memberships are nonrefundable but are transferable. Renters are not required to purchase a membership. Memberships are $100.00 if you need to purchase a membership please select (New Member) on the application.
